Bi-LED LENS Headlight VS LED Headlight bulbs
2024-03-15 08:59:21 View Counts:

In the past decade, LED headlight bulbs have been a hit in the car lighting industry. Both LED headlight bulb manufacturers and their trade customers have seen a steady increase in demand over the years.
Our company started with HID xenon bulbs in 2009, introduced our first LED headlights in 2012, and now boasts over 20+ popular series of LED headlights. It's evident on the roads: more and more vehicles are equipped with LED headlights, some even straight from the factory. The data and market trends speak for themselves. LED headlights are a fantastic product; otherwise, they wouldn't enjoy such widespread use.
There's a Chinese proverb that goes, "Prepare for a rainy day before it rains," meaning it's wise to be prepared before trouble strikes. While LED headlight bulbs are still in high demand, we must prepare for future trends. Just as HID xenon bulbs were popular over a decade ago, paving the way for better LED bulbs, now LED bulbs dominate the market.
LED bulbs have replaced HID xenon bulbs due to their high efficiency, quick response, and longer lifespan, given HID bulbs' high heat and short lifespan. It's only natural to seek replacements. But what will succeed LED bulbs as the next mainstream headlight upgrade?
Based on our analysis of global automotive trends, LED bulbs are no longer the primary choice for most electric vehicles, which are replacing conventional fuel cars. So, what kind of headlights do these EVs use?
Below are pictures of Li L9, a popular EV in China, featuring integrated LED projector headlights for both high and low beams.

The low beam brightness of the Li L9 is moderate, but the high beam is relatively weak, with light scattering and insufficient brightness. Many car owners are unsatisfied with the illumination and want to replace the factory headlights.

Here is the next-generation mainstream LED lighting upgrade that replaces LED bulbs—the LED Lens Projector, which integrates both high and low beams. Many people also call it the Bi-LED Lens Projector.

What are the benefits of Bi-LED Lens Projector?
1.Consistent Light Patterns Across Different Car Models: Bi-LED Lens Projector consists of LED chips and lenses, combining light sources with optical components.
LED headlight bulbs are only light sources without optical components. When installed in a vehicle, the original headlamp assembly becomes its optical component. However, different car models have different original headlamp assembly designs. Below are examples of a reflector assembly from Subaru and a lens assembly from Toyota. Even though both use H11 bulbs for low beams and install the same H11 LED bulbs, the resulting light patterns are different.

Because light patterns are determined not only by the light source but also by optical components, LED bulbs cannot guarantee consistent performance across every car model. However, Bi-LED Lens Headlights ensure uniformity. Moreover, as a manufacturer, we can customize LED chip and lens combinations to find the perfect match, ensuring optimal low and high beam light patterns. This prevents dissatisfaction with light patterns from occurring.

2.The Bi-LED Lens Projector not only replaces factory integrated high and low beam LED Headlight but can also be retrofitted onto vehicles using bulbs. For instance, in the image below is a HONDA FIT, originally equipped with H4 reflector headlights, which can be upgraded with Bi-LED LENS Headlights through professional retrofitting.

After the retrofit, the vehicle's appearance is notably enhanced, giving it a more modern and stylish look. Not only does it look better, but the nighttime visibility is also improved, thanks to precise light patterns and high brightness, ensuring a safer driving experience. Besides, the cost of retrofitting Bi-LED Lens Projector is lower than replacing the entire headlight assembly, making it a better choice for car owners.

In 2024, we introduced 4 types of Bi-LED Lens Projector, differing mainly in performance and lens structure. Please refer to the table below for more details.
